Jesus Loves You!

Even as you read this, God is looking at you from heaven with loving eyes.

Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

God’s Authority
God’s commandments are holy and pure, rebellion against them is a sin against the highest authority. No different than the laws our governments give today, disobeying them brings punishment. A law without enforcement is powerless, and selective judgment is unfair. God, however is the supreme power, and deals out impartial righteous judgment according to his supreme standard of righteousness.

Mankind was first created out of dust and placed in the Garden of Eden. This Garden of Eden was paradise, God's presence was there, he openly spoke to mankind, even walking with them there, and there was none of the suffering we experience today. Adam and Eve were the first two people ever created, and God gave them a specific commandment, Genesis 2:16-17 KJV "...Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."

We see God sentence his punishment after Adam and Eve break his commandment. He banished mankind from the garden, and introduced the pain and hardship we know of today. Throughout the bible you'll see over 600 laws that follow this path, break a commandment, and receive punishment. But why is this? Two reasons, God is the supreme ruler over all creation, the source of love, goodness, mercy, and truth. His love is experienced by all creation in the universally shared gift of free will. This ties into the second reason, God's word is the only source of truth. Everything He says is the truth, his spoken word is the governing law all creation must obey.

Need of a Savior
Upon death, God will judge every word you've ever spoken, every action you've ever done, every thought you've ever had, and judge it by His perfect Law. We all have broken God's commandments. God is righteous and requires obedience and submission from all creation, simply breaking one of his commandments (which is sinning against God) earns you an eternity in hell

Ecclesiastes 12:14

"For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil."

Romans 3:19

"Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God."

James 2:10

“Whoever breaks one commandment is guilty of breaking them all.”

There is a light!

But there is a light in all this, and His name is Jesus Christ! God loved you so much he decided to send His only Son, Jesus Christ to pay the price for your sin and freely give you salvation!

John 3:16

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

How did he pay for your sin? God’s Law required an animal to be killed as a sacrificial offering to pay for the sin of the transgressor. The animal had to be spotless, without blemish, and perfect. All of these sacrifices were a prophetic message about the coming Messiah who would offer himself as that sacrifical sin offering, and that Messiah is Jesus Christ.

Jesus lived a life without sin, obeyed all of God the Father’s commandments, and offered his life as the perfect sacrifice God’s Word required. He was crucified on the cross, died and rose from the dead on the third day, proving he was without sin, and overcame death out of love and mercy towards all those who will receive him as Lord. Then ascended into heaven to be seated at the right hand of God the Father!

John 1:29

“The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”

Daniel 9:27

“And he shall make a strong covenant with many for one week,[a] and for half of the week he shall put an end to sacrifice and offering…”

1 John 3:5

"And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin."

Hebrews 10:10-12

"By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;"

Go to Heaven!

1 John 4:9

“In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.”

There is only one way to receive salvation. Believe with all your heart that Jesus has paid for your sin by his sacrificial death on the cross, believe God raised him from the dead on the third day, and confess Jesus as your Lord and savior (Romans 10:9)! Salvation is not reliant on your good deeds, or even mistakes in life, Jesus offers this salvation to all races, peoples, nations and backgrounds!

Galatians 3:28

"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus."

John 14:6

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

Say This Prayer for Salvation!
Jesus, I confess that I am a guilty sinner, deserving of eternal damnation, and I believe you were crucified for my sin, died, buried, and rose from the dead on the 3rd day. I believe you ascended into heaven to be seated at the right hand of God the Father and I believe your blood has washed me clean of all my sin. I confess that you are my Lord. I give you my life and I ask that you would forgive me for all my sin. Please enter into my heart and transform my life, I am yours now and forever. Amen

How to know Him

Relation
You can't know someone without spending time with them. Jesus is the Word of God (John 1:1), and as you read the bible you begin to discover what he asks of you, what he thinks of you, what he likes, and what he dislikes.

Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God that enters you once you become saved. He lives inside you and will teach you all things (1 John 2:27) according to the word of God (John 16:13). It is only through His power that you can walk on the narrow road (Romans 8:13). He brings the change in you to be like Christ.

Submission

The Holy Spirit is the only one who can bring true repentance and keep us on the narrow road. The truth is that we have to come to God in truth and spirit. The truth is coming to the Jesus the Bible testifies of and not our own imagination or perversion of Him. The truth is knowing your own ability or holiness can't keep you on the narrow road. The spirit is desiring  what God desires and humbly coming before him, willing and ready to submit every area of your life to him.

Practical Steps

Daily Routine
Start by spending 10 minutes a day in prayer and 10 minutes a day reading the bible. Make it a habit to think on what you read throughout the day.

Where to Start?
The bible can be daunting, but don't look at it as something you have to read overnight. Start in the book of Matthew and read through the New Testament. After that, go through and read the Old Testament in order. Stay consistent and take it one verse at a time, the bible is your new food and although you might not feel it, your spirit is starving for God's word daily!

Never Forget
God has a specific purpose and plan for your life, as you get to know Him the Lord will reveal it to you. Throughout this walk, you'll have hard days and amazing days, no matter the type day Jesus is with you and He still loves you!

Romans 6:4
"Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life."
